Straight back into the dungeon. Going back to where they fought the humanoid with sharp teeth, the party continues on. Finding long stretches of corridor, they end up at the end of one such corridor. Another headless body is there, facing a locked door, holding a note saying "LEAVE HIM THERE." So the party goes through the opposite door and continues exploring. After a few twists they come across a large empty room with a door at the other end. They all head over to this other door and open it. Doing so drops two of them into a 20-foot pit. The others hang from the edge by their fingertips, and something big on the other side of the door roars. Cecil and Buddy pull themselves up and scramble to help the others get out of the pit before the shadowy thing can get them. After a while, they notice the monster never gets any closer. Eventually, they figure out it was just furs tossed over wooden crates; the noises came from a magic mouth spell.

Afterwards, they return to the locked door. Looking through the corpse's pouch again, Cecil realizes that the dead man had the key to the lock. The lock wasn't keeping the party out; it was keeping something else in. They open the door to find a single filthy armed man inside, cooking something over a fire. He seems quite fidgety and claims he was wrongly imprisoned. There's something in an adjacent room the man doesn't want them to see…in fact, when Cecil ventures too close, he pulls his bastard sword and attacks. With swiftness and skill, he quickly drops both Cecil and Long, but Buddy's relentless flurry of blows finally fells him.

While Lola is binding everyone's wounds, and keeping Cecil and Long from dying, Buddy sees a strange worm crawling from the man's body. They kill it. In that adjacent room are the bodies of the man's companions, half-eaten. Ew. Two more worms there quickly die in the tidal wave of the party's disgust.
