So two monks and a druid walk into a bar…

The three characters meet in a tavern in the Shambles called "The Hollow Leg," reputed to have the best beer around. In fact, all the barflies are singing its praises! When the characters drink the beer, it’s the foulest stuff ever. Naturally, a bar brawl breaks out. The barkeep watches it without getting involved. The PCs easily win the fistfight.

Turns out that Bart, the barkeep, knows very well that his beer is awful. It wasn’t, until a week ago when some stranger took offense and cursed his establishment. Since Bart has seen the PCs handle themselves in a fight, he offers them a sack of coins to go into the basement and kill the beast that is fouling his stocks. He can’t do it himself, because he has a wooden leg and doesn’t move around well enough, though he’s a big guy.

In the basement, the characters are attacked by a hideous blobby thing with sharp claws that might have been human once. In a pitched battle, the monks and the druid finally bludgeon it to death, though its claws nearly spell the end of all of them. When the creature dies, it burns and bubbles away.

Afterwards, in the basement, Anastasia finds a loose stone in the floor of the basement. They can’t pry it up, but with a mighty karate kick, Buddy breaks it in two. The pieces break oddly, falling away to reveal a shaft with a ladder leading down. Bart the barkeep is impressed that Buddy was able to break open the door. He tells the characters to return in a week if they want to find out more about what’s down there. He thanks them for their help, and tells them they have made a friend in Bart and the patrons of The Wooden Leg.
