Dodger Time!!

Why is it that every time the season gets exciting, the Dodgers show up for one of those classic, apocalyptic, do-or-die series?

The Giants, having pulled off a 4-game road sweep of the San Diego Padres, have gained a game and a half on the division-leading Dodgers. When they were 7 1/2 games back, the Giants were a huge, huge longshot. Now that they're six games back, and on a winning streak, they're still a longshot, but they're a longshot with a Dodger blue target squarely in their crosshairs. Pull off another sweep at home this weekend, and the Giants chop the Dodgers' lead in half.

Sure, it's a longshot, especially when you consider that the Dodgers are the hottest team in professional sports right now. Wouldn't that just make a sweep that much sweeter, though? Wouldn't you love to see our Giants knock those blue bastards off of their smug perch and send them back to La-La Land with their tails between their legs? I know I would.

Hell, tonight we have our ace on the mound. Tomorrow, we have our favorite good luck charm in attendance. That's like two automatic wins right there. After that, we'll have the Dodgers reeling so much that a sweep is pretty much guaranteed.

I like it. Bring it on!!
